Orphan

You know, there is a movie coming out today called "Orphan". Now, I haven't seen it but from what I've read, even many in the secular media are saying it's not good. (Notice, I didn't say "stupid" as some people have said about a topic before getting all the facts.) ;)

But, when the Washington Post says, it is a "depraved, worthless piece of filth...a high-gloss horror show about a well-meaning couple who bring home a 9-year-old girl to join their family, only to discover, way too late, that she's a homicidal psychopath.", that to me says very loudly...STAY AWAY!

Instead, let me offer you an alternative. It's not a movie, but a new book by Tom Davis of Children's Hopechest. With over 143 million oprhans in the world and our Lord's command to defend and care for them, we need to be engaged in the spiritual battle for their souls! The Lord says that He is the father to the fatherless and a defender of the orphan, but He chooses to do that through you and me.

So, instead of supporting something "depraved, worthless piece of filth..." let me encourage you to read the book Scared by Tom Davis.
